Sometime prior to the evening of April 5, CoMo saw an illustration of an anthropomorphic animal in a certain style that intrigued him. This led CoMo to reminisce on all the design and illustration decisions that CoMo had noticed artists making throughout the months, and wanted to try to incorporate some of them into some doodles.

On April 5, while drawing a page for 1659:15, CoJu drew a robot that resembled Enduring Richard wearing a bra. Enduring Richard, a character not seen since September 2022, was originally intended to be male. Since we all know only feehmayels wear brahs, CoMo decided to make Richard say in the next panel "I... NEED... ESTROGEN!!!"

At the same time, CoMo was digitally doodling, attempting to try a different art style. CoMo chose a bright pink background and a bright green line art color, since CoMo regularly used bright colors to outline or test things. The testing he did included the lack of a defined cheek/snout, rectangular eyes with thick "eyeliner", and fatter thighs... sigh...

When CoMo colored the character in the doodle, which he initially interpereted as a cat, he chose the color green, since bright green was already used for the line art. (He may have tried different colors prior, but he doesn't remember). He then gave him markings using a darker shade of green, putting them on his ears, belly, and tip of his tail. On his hands, CoMo also colored his fingers instead of his entire hand, which was a design decision that CoMo had been meaning to make on a character for some time. CoMo did his feet in a similar way.

By the way, did I mention that he is a he? This is not surprising of course, given how misogynistic CoMo is. One time, he said "screw empowering women, I'm listening to Weezer!". Just kidding. That didn't happen. Except the first sentence. Sage is in fact a he. More specifically, a male. Wait. Sage? Yes. Sage is his name. CoJu named him that, probably because he is green. Fun fact: "Sage" was one of the considered names for Cypress before "Cypress" was chosen.

Notably, another unintentional style differentiation was the use of bright colors for line art and, at the time, consistent avoidance of shading and highlighting. This was because CoMo was merely testing things and not taking it very seriously. But CoMo might just start taking it seriously, since he liked the result of this doodle. He decided to draw more of Sage in that specific style - with the pink background and bright green lines, rectangular eyes with thick eyeliner and thighs. THICK!
